A hello from England

This is a new blog and a hello from England. My other blog is no more because I was getting far too many anonymous comments of an unwelcome nature on it. I hope that my old friends and some new will join me here in my new home and follow along as I share my life in the sixth decade.

During the lockdown I have been sewing a lot and making my junk journals so my hands have not been idle. We have been lucky, so far, that the virus hasn't found us. We lead a quiet life and don't go out much, but even so we have to be careful.

Larry has now been living in England with me for 7 and a bit years.  It doesn't seem possible that it is that long. He now has his permanent leave to remain, which is a relief for both of us and we are very settled here with my family close by. Sadly, Larry does not see his own family, but they keep in touch on the internet, which is a blessing for people who live on opposite sides of the globe.

Here are some pictures of a rag doll I made recently. Her name is Alice and she is made in the primitive style.  She smells gorgeous because she has been dipped in a mix of coffee, vanilla, cloves and cinnamon. One of my cats has taken a liking to her too.

I'm going to try and post more regularly now that I have this new blog so until the next time ...

    1. Thank you Vicki. I really enjoyed making her. I fell in love with the primitive style when I was living in Knoxville. There was a mall near where we live that had a shop, right at the back, selling all the primitive stuff, from furniture to mugs and I would hang out there as often as I could, to take in to my memory bank, all the goodies they had on sale. I loved the smell there and the pretty tiny lights, faux rusted jar tops etc. We don't have any of that in England.
Welcome to my new blog :)

    1. Thank you DJan and it's lovely to hear from you again too. Blogger has a new interface, which I am struggling to get used to. Nothing stays the same, does it (sigh).

  3. I'd never heard of dipping a doll in fragrance. She would smell good enough to eat! It's good to keep busy with hobbies while not going out much. I wish I had more hobbies!

    1. Hello Margaret, welcome to my blog :) yes, my hobbies have been and are a godsend during these difficult months. It's so easy to get into the frame of mind where we get fed up and want everything back to how it was, but for now we must accept what is and make the best of it!
